Jenny Humphries been caring for patients at Enloe for 23 years. A lifelong Butte County resident, she was born at Enloe herself.
Jenny wanted to be a flight nurse since the age of nine when she distinctly remembers Enloe FlightCare landing across the street from her family’s home to provide care for a trauma victim. When Jenny was hired at Enloe she discovered that the Chief FlightCare pilot, Marty Marshall, was in fact the same pilot that had landed across the street from her childhood home all those years ago.
Prior to earning her nursing degree, Jenny began work at Enloe in 2000 as an EMT on a ground ambulance. She fell in love with prehospital care and upon completing nursing school was one of the first two new graduate nurses hired into the Neuro-Trauma ICU. After about a year, she transferred to the ER and later began her dream job as a Flight Nurse in 2006.
Jenny earned her master’s in business administration from Chico State in 2008, and credits her many mentors and supporters for giving her an opportunity to serve as the Assistant Nurse Manager in the Emergency Department, followed by the role of Nurse Manager of Nursing Support and Staffing.
In March of 2014, while a patient in Enloe’s Nettleton Mother & Baby Care Center, having just delivered her sweet daughter Emma, Jenny enjoyed a perfect view of the helicopter, watching FlightCare come and go throughout her stay. It was then she decided it was time to make her way back to FlightCare and EMS.
Jenny promoted to Chief Flight Nurse in November of 2014 and has been back “home” with FlightCare and EMS ever since.
Since returning to FlightCare, Jenny completed the Medical Transport Leadership Institute, a 2-year program through which she earned her Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) certification.
Jenny enjoys teaching other flight nurses’ techniques such as ECMO transports, as well as patient simulation within the helicopter at the National Air Medical Transport Conference. She is an instructor with the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association, instructing the Transport Provider Advanced Trauma Course.
She is currently Vice President of the California Chapter of the Association of Air Medical Services (Cal-AAMS). Over the last several years, she has taken on responsibility for MedCom, Enloe’s emergency dispatch center, as well as clinical oversight of ground ambulance operations.
After working alongside Marty Marshal for many years, Jenny was named Marty’s successor as EMS Director upon his retirement. In addition to her director role, Jenny remains Enloe’s Chief Flight Nurse.
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with daughter Emma, their chocolate lab Coco, and fishing any chance she gets.

Born in Riverside, California the second of three children and graduated from Jurupa Valley High School. After high school, I attended California State University San Bernardino earning my B.A in Sociology, continued with my education and earned a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from CSU San Bernardino as well. Upon completion of graduate school in June 2008, I was fortunate to secure a temporary AB 1806 counseling position in Chico Unified School District and moved to Chico that December. The position included working with students and staff from both Alternative Education and Pleasant Valley High School. A couple years later, a permanent counseling position in Alternative Education was available and I never left. The students and staff stole my heart and my passion for Alternative Education grew exponentially. In the fall of 2015, I became the Principal of all programs on the Fair View campus. Alternative Education is truly an amazing place to work. With four programs in total, serving extremely courageous and resilient youth throughout our community, the dedicated staff come together each year to provide the best service possible. This dedication inspires the Administrative team to no end. We work as a family unit with consistent communication amongst each program. We collaborate with all secondary schools within CUSD to reach common goals and support one another. My life changed forever when I met my wife, Katy, in February of 2010, and married on July 13, 2017 in Lake Tahoe, California. Katy is a teacher at Shasta Elementary in CUSD and an amazing local photographer in Chico. Finding the time to golf and fish as much as possible helps me self-regulate and I am a huge fan of the San Francisco Forty Niners. I am also extremely fortunate to receive support from my parents, Jim and Pattie Moll, my siblings, my wonderful wife and her parents, and our dogs Bennie and Bowman. |

Jan Sneed Rails to Trails Rescue Sanctuary
Jan's Rails to Trails Sanctuary is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) tax exempt public benefit corporation that provides a place for unwanted horses to live out their lives with loving care. Jan started the organization after she took in an abused horse in 2007 and nursed it back to health. Word of her work spread and soon she was contacted about other horses needing new homes. In order to pay the cost for maintaining the new barn residents, Jan began to give horse care and riding lessons to kids, and it became very apparent that both the horses and kids benefited from the relationship. While the core focus of the organization is to provide a sanctuary for horses, the fact that young people gain compassion, self-confidence and develop a sense of responsibility through their interaction with horses has led to Jan's efforts to also help children. Special consideration is given to children who are at risk or at a difficult time in their lives to give them support and integrate them into the available programs. Jan and Bob Sneed provide the main barn, arena, land and management of the operation with no renumeration. Sponsorships and donations to the program are tax deductible where allowed by the law and may be sent to Jan's Rails to Trails Sanctuary at 9 Hagenridge Road, Chico, CA 95973.
Jan served five terms, equaling 20 years, as a board member with the Chico Area Recreation District, (CARD), ending her service in November 2018. To recognize her years of service, CARD named their youth scholarship after Jan. The scholarship provides access to youngsters unable to afford program fees.

Tracy Mohr has over 45 years of experience in animal care and control, starting as a volunteer at a local animal shelter during her high school years. Although she had wanted to become a veterinarian, she felt that working on behalf of shelter animals would have more impact. Tracy’s experiences include vet tech, animal control officer, and animal shelter manager. She had previously run the shelter as the executive director for Butte Humane and worked for the city of Chico as an animal control officer. Tracy is also the founder of several non-profit organizations and has run a horse sanctuary since 2001. She has 8 years of experience as a building designer and was working out of state when the city asked her to come back. Tracy has been the Animal Services Manager for the City of Chico since 2012 when the city resumed shelter operations and moved the city to no-kill status in the first year. With limited staffing, Chico Animal Shelter has been able to drastically reduce the euthanasia rate, support at-risk animals, and provide programs that serve as a model for shelters across the country and internationally.
