Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley

Rashell Brobst first became involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley more than 22 years ago as a volunteer coordinator when the organization first opened its doors with a single clubhouse in Chico. Rashell worked her way up from floor staff to CEO, and under her thoughtful guidance and exceptional leadership has helped the organization grow to 11 sites that reach more than 700 young people each day, and more than 2,000 youth every year.

Rashell is truly a champion for our young people and a dedicated leader in our community. In addition to her work at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley, Rashell has been actively involved with Vistage and Chico Executive Group, Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA), California Parks & Recreation Society (CPRS), California School Age Consortium (CalSAC), Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE), Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bidwell Park, Caper Acres - Nico Project, and Chico Rotary – Paul Harris Fellow member. Most recently, Rashell received the 2018 3rd Assembly District Woman of the Year Award, Soroptomist International of Chico Ruby Award, and national recognition from Boys & Girls Clubs of America for her leadership during the Camp Fire.

As the first in her family to graduate from college, Rashell received her B.A. in Recreation Administration with an option in Therapeutic Recreation from CSU, Chico in 1995. She and her husband Dave are amazing parents to their sons, Holden and Sawyer, and are an integral support system for their village of friends – many of whom are single moms. As a young person who was mentored and raised by her aunt, she knows firsthand the importance of investing in others.
