DESCRIPTION:Chico Rotary Club led a multi-club series of projects in northe
rn Tanzania\, near Mt. Kilimanjaro\, between 2008-2019.  With support fro
m 19 other Rotary Clubs and Rotary International\, $566\,000 was raised fr
om clubs and five Global Grants to support projects including clean water\
, computers in schools\, improved health clinics\, public restrooms\, agri
cultural improvements\, solar\, and three safe foot bridges.      Most
of these projects are described at our project website: www.RotaryForNorth
ernTanzania.org.  In addition to two shorter videos (linked at the projec
 t home page)\, a 23-minute documentary film\, In Kilimanjaro’s Shadow\,
was created by a film-maker from Los Angeles who accompanied us on one of
our trips.  This film can be viewed at Vimeo.com\, search for: In Kiliman
jaro’s shadow.        Twice\, Rotarians from our Club and from other
District 5160 clubs joined me to visit our projects and meet our Tanzania
 n Rotary colleagues.  Currently\, Joel Zimbelman is leading a follow-up p
roject in the same Tanazanian community\, thanks to funding from our Club
and a District Grant.         It occurs to me that many if not most of
our club members are not aware of these projects\, but might be intereste
 d.   Perhaps it would inspire Paul Harris giving and generate interest in
  other international projects.
